Follow the money: equity, payments, retainers
In one lineStories leave no paper, money does: equity, payments and retainers tie the people together.
Narrative is cheap and leaves no paper. Money leaves paper. This chapter is the part of the file that would survive a hostile cross-examination.
the DNC hack was not Russia — it was NSA.
// 36-year NSA career; retired 2001 as technical leader for
// military and geopolitical analysis; built collection systems still in use
// server logs recorded every IP — "never released"
Binney's expanded position: the DNC servers were not breached by Russia but by a disaffected US intelligence insider. He voices concern about Clinton's private handling of classified material. He further asserts that NSA holds every one of her deleted emails and the FBI could pull them at will.

Philip Oakley — former Army intelligence analyst and a longtime friend of Flynn's; owns two small firms selling software to defense and intelligence clients.
Nasser Kazeminy, Kian's associate, separately retains Flynn as a consultant — the same man behind Amadeus Investors LLC and the $90,000 to Schoenberger.
Darkshore LLC appears to belong to a Jack Hilton Jr., per the formation filing.
# 2016 · Turkish client → INOVO BV → SGR LLC
July 2016: Alptekin retains Flynn Intel Group for the Turkish government and sets up INOVO BV in the Netherlands, moving money from Ankara to FIG through Western banks. Flynn then hires the lobbying firm SGR LLC — Jim Courtovich.
October 5: Courtovich contracts with FIG to work for INOVO BV, later filing a retroactive FARA registration for it. He met Miles Taylor, called Politico, and placed an op-ed in The Hill. FOIA shows Kian and Courtovich in contact between 2006 and 2011 during Kian's Ex-Im Bank tenure.
Its lobbyist Morris was questioned by the IRS about
suspicious transactions with Courtovich.
He made an excuse to leave, bought a revolver,
and shot himself in the head.
A search of his office found roughly $10M in related funds
in his accounts — and a dartboard with
Courtovich's photograph pinned to it.
SAUDI · $4M
Before that, Courtovich lands Saudi Arabia as a client: $4M — $1.72M into a Capitol Hill townhouse, the rest buying equity in his firm. The money appears to have been for lobbying against Americans suing the kingdom over 9/11. He did not deliver. The Saudis are now suing him over it.
SEP 2016 · RETAINER
From September 2016 the Saudis add $45,000 per month for lobbying.
OTHER CLIENTS
Morocco and Qatar; a presidential candidate in El Salvador; Russia's Sberbank US subsidiary seeking sanctions relief — which also hired him for media work around the October 2017 Catalan independence referendum.

# Wikistrat — not connected yet, but adjacent
Founded 2009 by Joel Zamel, Daniel Green and former Israeli military intelligence officer Elad Schaffer. Self-described crowdsourced consultancy: hired experts write reports for clients, usually government agencies and large corporations. Analysts run simulations, war games and risk monitoring.
Zamel wanted the former national security adviser on his advisory board and spoke with Flynn repeatedly around the formation of Flynn Intel Group — the Daily Beast reported Flynn was taken with him. Wikistrat began losing money, took on more foreign clients, then emptied out and looked dormant by early 2017. It reappeared in 2019 claiming $100 million in revenue.
