How Cicada was turned into Q

In one linePrimary records show Cicada 3301 and WikiLeaks being written into the insider format before Q, by people with no documented tie to either.
Four days before the first Q post, a request for a political bot army
The thread starts on October 19, 2017, when this author writes to TStGermain after an exchange of YouTube comments. Schoenberger answers within the hour, copying Beth Bogaerts, "my life partner," and opens with the business: "We run a very private business called Shadowbox. Perhaps there can be some paid work soon." The same day: "Defango may be in touch with you BTW." On October 21 he pays for a gif and writes, "You know Chase...ha ha."
assemble a bot army that is non repetitive, and able to message 3-4 various missives, we can use it
for both infiltration and hive … It could be a useful tool for the revolution....;)"
Oct 24 16:36 UTC "we want an army of bots that can up their game and be targeted politically,
can infiltrate, etc Twitter, FB, etc.. and we need them with strong enough AI to escape filters....;)"
Oct 25 15:32 UTC Bogaerts: "get Truth louder than the false narrative. We will be able to turn what
they do against them"
Oct 25 15:34 UTC "The idea is to build an army of chaos that can confuse the corrupt entities that
are harming the people."
Oct 25 18:11 UTC "a mechanized bot army that can swarm in a new way, a more surgical way...;)"
The first Q post appears on October 28. The thread's last message is October 31. The next contact in this author's mailbox is a YouTube message from the Sophia Musik account on December 20: "How are you Arturo? Are you ok? Email me at Tstger13." Work on art resumes in February 2018.
Witness account · Arturo TafoyaI said yes. It's in the same thread: "About the bot army yes can do," a list of tools, a workflow. I was 33, starstruck, and he had just paid me. On the calls it was pitched to me as a company that protected victims, so these would be "good bots," turning the corrupt's own weapons against them. You can hear that framing in their emails too. I never built it. After October 31 I stopped talking to them for more than a month, and it was Thomas who came looking for me. Now I know the pitch was a lie. I'm publishing my own replies because he has this thread too, and it's better you see it from me.
Gmail threads "Hello" (Oct 19–23), "Shall we talk today..." (Oct 23–24) and "I jusvhave to include Beth in this" (Oct 24–31, 2017), held in the author's mailbox. Phone numbers and third-party addresses withheld.
The other person in that thread says Shadowbox was a pitch, not a company
Beth Bogaerts, copied on the bot-army emails above, described Shadowbox on a public livestream. She says it was sold to her the same way it was sold to me. She believed it was something good, a way to help people online, just as I believed in the "good bots." Neither of us saw the rest until later:
01:34:30 "I should have done my due diligence when it came to the shadow box stuff …
I never thought people like this existed … At the time though, nobody warned me."
01:22:09 "Shadowbox was never used to troll anyone. It was literally barely a company."
01:25:52 "September's the meeting. October, Shadowbox starts. November, people are asking
to leave Shadowbox and it disintegrates by November … there were no customers … No one worked.
No one did anything."
02:04:22 "I never saw the troll network … I do believe Shadowbox was meant to kind of be a
shiny diversion."
Her timeline matches my mailbox: the requests in late October, then nothing until December 20. She also says she was "defraud[ed] … out of tens of thousands of dollars" through Shadowbox and that she proved it in court. That is her claim about her own case. I'm not repeating it as a finding of mine.

August 2017: "an aged Reddit account for Shadowbox"
A redacted printout of a ProtonMail thread, "Re: follow this guy," received August 10, 2017, shows a message from TStGermain (the account this file ties to Schoenberger) to a list that includes Defango, CoyoteRio, Michael Levine and Beth Blackburn: "So when money comes in, Manny and I are going to buy an aged Reddit account for Shadowbox. It will be put to good use..." The same thread lists Twitter handles for people on "his team." It is dated two months before the October 2017 "private business called Shadowbox" email above.

Printout held in the author's files. Addresses redacted.

The original notes stop where the network's public phase begins. This chapter is the other archive: primary artifacts collected since 2017 — source .eml files with passing SPF/DKIM/DMARC, archived Reddit activity, deposition text, video files. It answers the question the notes leave open, which is what Schoenberger was actually doing while Flynn's people were upstairs at Trump Tower.
Standing correction, stated once and applied throughout: Cicada 3301 is an anonymous puzzle organization with no established ownership. Thomas Schoenberger is a documented false claimant to its authorship and leadership. Nothing below should be read as accepting his framing — the emails are evidence of what he said and planned, not of what he was.
The run-up, as one line · 2016 → 2017 Rev. 4
Before the dated emails below, there is a year and a half of public material in which the vocabulary Q would inherit — Follow the White Rabbit, Snow White, the white-hat federal insider — is already circulating through puzzle, New Age and conspiracy channels. Mapped as one line, it runs through one persona network: Lisa Clapier's @SnowWhite7IAM on Twitter, PistisSophia on Discord and MEgaAnon on 4chan. Several points in the working timeline rest on artifacts not yet attached; those are stamped accordingly and not used to carry anything.
Thomas to Defango on Ed Butowsky: "Ed needs to be triggered"
More DMs from Thomas, as "Stealth," to Defango, this time about Ed Butowsky, the client behind ShadowBox. They read as a vendor working a client:
- "I know how to sell him. I need Trevor to help as well … Trevor has that nervous 'sky is falling' energy and can trigger Ed. Ed needs to be triggered."
- "Ed will be rehiring us because Matt is not a cage fighter like us. Can you please get this to [B.] … She should be told to suggest Matt confront NPR head on. When he fails, we step in."
- "His game plan is to put together a package and have his wealthy clients invest … The good news is that he is also an emotional guy and will freak about NPR and Matt will not be able to handle it."
- "He is emotional Manny … You and me will make it clear there are much bigger attacks about to occur."
What they show, in Thomas's words: a plan to win back a paying client by steering a rival ("Matt") into a fight he expects to lose, through a third person, and by stoking the client's fear. "Trevor" fits the Trevor Fitzgibbon of the ShadowBox filing. "Matt" is Matt Couch, who was working the Seth Rich story with Butowsky at the time. Identified by the author "Stuart" and the dates are not identified in the messages.
The "Peace Ambassador" credential
The working timeline places Clapier in South Korea as a "Peace Ambassador" in an international women's peace-walk circuit whose "Restoration of Light" vocabulary prefigures the "Victory of the Light" and "White Rose" language she later brought to Q audiences. The trip specifics are unconfirmed. Her own use of the title is not: "I am a Peace Ambassador" appears in her own PistisSophia email, reproduced further down this block.
The fusion sentence: Cicada, WikiLeaks, and leaking federal agents
Victurus Libertas publishes its "Pentagon Insider" material, three and a half months before the election. Two lines carry the whole later mythology: that "Cicada 3307 [sic] … is connected to WikiLeaks," and that "former and current FBI agents are leaking, not Russians." An anonymous puzzle, a publisher and a white-hat insider, welded together in one post. Chapter 05 covers the channel's July 2016 Seth Rich launch; this is the sentence that made the puzzle part of it.
An introduction: Steele to Tanya Cornwell
The timeline records Nora Maccoby introducing Robert David Steele to Tanya Cornwell — later Tanya Cornwell Biss, author of the June 30, 2017 "HAZMAT" email. The header of that email survives: Steele writing to Maccoby, copying Cornwell, under the subject "connecting Tanya and Robert." It joins the chapter 02 Cosmos Club artifact to the chapter 09 lawfare path by one handshake.
After the introduction: Steele's reply, and a lawsuit to reformat
Two more emails sit around the Feb 18 introduction. They put Nora Maccoby inside the Steele–Cornwell–Defango channel for months, not just at its first handshake.
Steele's reply. He answers Maccoby's introduction by offering to call her father ("when your Dad is ready") and pitching his "Memorandum for the President": "All progressives should support Trump if he implements the points in my memo, it is our one chance to eradicate the Deep State."
Jun 7, 2017. Cornwell writes to Maccoby, Defango and Steele at once. "Manny is having internet attack issues and I would like to use the format of your case that steve wrote," she says, and asks Maccoby to send Defango "a copy or one to me to edit out your names etc." She names her husband in the same email, the attorney Steven Biss, and says Biss "won't charge you anything unless he wins." That the "steve" who wrote the case is Biss is this desk's reading of the email. On that reading, Maccoby had a drafted complaint with the Biss practice that had not been filed, and Cornwell proposed to use it as the template for Defango's. The reason the email gives for it not being filed is about Maccoby's family and is blacked out here. This is 23 days before the HAZMAT email.
No reply from Maccoby is in the file. These emails show she was introduced, asked and discussed. They do not show what she did. Cornwell's June 14 covering note on the Feb 18 forward is not reproduced; it is mostly remarks about third parties.
Michael A. Levine: the name that turns a founder’s story into a deal
He has been in this chapter all along, in a clause here and a cc line there. He deserves a page, because of what his name does for Thomas.
Who he is on the public record. Documented A Los Angeles composer. Wikipedia and his own site list him as co-writer of the Kit Kat jingle “Gimme a Break,” a composer on television series including Cold Case and Close to Home, an arranger and additional-music credit on scores by Hans Zimmer (on-screen credit for violin on Dunkirk), the writer of the theme for Resident Evil 7, an eight-time ASCAP award winner, and a Governor of the Television Academy’s Music Peer Group for 2013–2016. Claimed The match is mine. I am treating this composer and the “Michael A. Levine” credited on the Sevens.Exposed puzzle project and the “Michael Levine” named as Thomas’s partner in his sworn testimony as one person: same name and middle initial, same profession, same city. No document has him say it in so many words, but several pointers meet: the Nov 2019 payment receipt lists a contact address beginning “MLMusic”; the X account @MLMusic, which has blocked me, is titled “Michael A. Levine” and shows the poster of Served Like a Girl, a film Wikipedia credits him on; and his public Facebook page has a 2013 post of him with Seth Green after a screening of “the project that cannot speak its name” (Wikipedia has him scoring Star Wars Detours, an animated series featuring Seth Green) and a post saying his father was a university professor (Wikipedia names his father as Solomon B. Levine). A court filing, Hoffman v. Schoenberger, calls the Levine who paid Zack “a notable Hollywood composer,” and a 2019 article reads the receipt’s sender as “MLMusic” (chapter 15). If that match is wrong, this paragraph comes out and the rest stands, because everything below is his own email. He is not the former federal agent and author of the same name: in February 2019 a researcher I wrote to answered as if I meant him (“I have Levine’s book upstairs”).

What he did on each, as listed on Wikipedia. Most are “additional music” or a single instrument, not the full score; I have not checked each against its end credits, apart from the on-screen credit on Dunkirk. Posters belong to their studios and are shown as small thumbnails only to identify the films.
The paper: he is named an “Owner.” Documented On Oct 4, 2017, twenty-four days before the first Q post, Levine, Thomas Schoenberger and Richard J. Lech are the named “Owner” of a Cicada 3301 “Property,” with Insurgent Media and Cat Entertainment. That is the document that treats a puzzle with no proven author as a property with named owners.
The rules he writes: Apr 19, 2018. Documented In an email headed “Issue of Authenticity,” addressed to “Richard” (the Kryptos Journal address), with Thomas replying below, Levine sets the standard for a puzzle that is supposed to be anonymous: “Anyone involved in puzzle creation cannot also be a solver reporter on the puzzle. That’s just common sense.” He wants Manny (Defango, chapter 19) kept as a reporter, not a creator: “Cicada 3301 is suppose to be about an anonymous group of highly intelligent people. We lose our covert luster if one of our team is publicly bragging he is a member.” And: “It’s akin to an auction house shill bidding.” He places himself in the structure he is describing: “Just as you have been chief encryptor, Thomas and I head composers, and now Arturo in charge of graphics, let’s keep Manny as a reporter rather than a creator … Otherwise, we risk being ‘fake news’.” Thomas answers him: “not even a trained actor would be able to hide being both creator and solver.” The chain was forwarded to Defango the same day, who answered that he would “just … expose everything,” and reached me on Feb 21, 2020. Read what the owners wrote against what the Defango file shows him doing.
The team: May 2, 2018. Documented Thanking me for the Cicada video he writes: “Thomas has been raving about you — and I believe he is absolutely right to do so. We are lucky to have you on the team.” He is talking about Cicada as a team product, with a roster and roles, eleven days before he asks me to call him about “the project I alluded to.”
The pseudonym request: May 13–17, 2018. Documented On May 13 (Pacific time), the day we tried to speak by phone, he emails me “Siren Album,” credited to “Charles Pownall,” with a SoundCloud link, a music-distributor link and MP3s, then a second message, “2nd remix,” a DJ remix of “Siren Call.” Siren is the Freeform series he scored, per Wikipedia; his emails say only “Siren.” That evening, under the subject “Facebook Siren groups,” he sends two Facebook group links and: “Once Charles Pownall has a Spotify list, please post it to these groups (you will have to join - do so under a pseudonym) and any related instagram and twitter.” On May 15: “Has ‘Charles’ done his Spotify thing yet? Please let me know where you’re at.” My reply that night: “hello sorry for the delay I am about to start uploading i think tomorrow in the morning ill have everything.” On May 17: “There is a time element here. Should I be looking to get someone else to do this?” The emails do not say the earlier phone call was about this, and they do not show what was posted.
What it is, and what it is not. It is a request to promote a product he has a stake in through fan-group accounts that hide who is posting. It has nothing to do with Cicada or Q. The emails do not show whether the studio knew about the campaign or had cleared the material, and I am not claiming either way. Pseudonymous accounts generally break Facebook’s terms, and undisclosed promotion by someone with a stake in the product is what the FTC’s endorsement guidance (16 CFR Part 255) is aimed at. Whether this instance crossed a legal line is a question for a lawyer, and this file does not say it did. What it does show, in his own words, is ease with an audience believing a post comes from an ordinary fan. Set it beside April 19: he told Manny that being publicly identified with the team costs the project its “covert luster.” Twenty-five days later he is asking for posts that hide who is speaking. Both are about managing who the audience thinks is talking, which is the method the sock-cluster chapter documents elsewhere in this file. Here it is in the hand of a credentialed Hollywood professional, on a marketing job, with dates.
The studio: May 24, 2018. Documented This is the thread that shows what his name buys. Levine forwards counsel’s update to a producer and to Insurgent: “Got this from our lawyers this morning. We are waiting for Sony to make an offer.” The senior counsel at an entertainment-law firm had written to him that they “passed the IP summary along to the lawyer at Sony.” A Sony Pictures Entertainment executive answered the producer: “We just got info from the Cicada lawyer yesterday. Without the IP info, we could[n]’t make any deals. This should move forward now.” Thomas forwarded the chain to me and to Beth the same day: “Finally ! Great news ! Sony deal moving forward, Please keep this private. I am only sharing this with you both because I trust you 100%.” No offer from Sony appears anywhere in my file. In December 2018 I wrote to Levine that “the sony deal is not happening” (chapter 9b).
A payment to Zack: Nov 25, 2019. Documented Claimed A phone-screenshot receipt in chapter 15 shows $63.77 from “Michael Levine” to Zack with the note “Cicada.” Zack told me it was to keep him supporting Thomas in his harassment campaign. The receipt is Documented as an image I hold; the purpose is Zack’s account to me, so it is Claimed. Neither shows what Levine knew.
The trademark. Claimed I called him the “co-holder of the trademark” in my own 2018 and 2019 emails. I searched for a registration under the name “Cicada 3301” and found none. If a filing exists, it should settle this in one line, and I will print it. Until then this is Claimed, and it is my phrase.
Why this carries weight. This paragraph is my reading, not a document. Thomas’s account of Cicada, alone, is one man’s story. With Levine beside it, it is a property with owners, counsel, a producer and a studio asking for “the IP info.” Everyone downstream treated Cicada 3301 as something Thomas could sell because a credentialed Hollywood composer, with a law firm behind him, was on the paper with him. That is the support he gives Thomas. It is also his exposure. He wrote that Cicada “is suppose to be about an anonymous group,” and he is a named Owner on the agreement that treats it as a property, in the same months this file documents the Q template being assembled. I leave it there.
What this does not say. Nothing in my file shows that Levine wrote, posted, planned or knew about any Q material, and the Siren request above is a marketing job unrelated to Cicada or Q. The payment in chapter 15 shows a payment and a one-word note, not what he knew about what Zack posted. Working as a composer, taking a studio meeting and co-owning a film property are not wrongdoing. I have left out second-hand speculation about him that has no document behind it. His own words, dated, are above.
"Lookout Mountain Wonderland"
A shared Google Drive folder by a user named "KevinFlynn" (Cozy Lala / @Cozy_Chan) is recorded as holding a #FollowTheWhiteRabbit folder and a Hollywood-network graphic with a Q glyph in its lower-left corner — eight months before the first drop. Held pending the file listing and share metadata; if those confirm the dates, this becomes the earliest physical White Rabbit artifact in the file.
Tracy Beanz names her gateway
On a live broadcast, Tracy Beanz (Tracy Diaz) — later one of the three people who carried Q from 4chan to a mass audience — credits Victurus Libertas as her way into the White Rabbit and Cicada 3301 material. In the same period the channel runs the "Spring Purge," the pedophile ring as Deep State leverage, and patience framing that reads, in hindsight, as "trust the plan" installed in advance.
Schoenberger / Beanz / Victurus Libertas. The three-way connection: the composer who fed the channel, the influencer who credited it, and the channel that hosted every persona from Pentagon Insider to Q · Watch on YouTube ↗
MEgaAnon's first posts, and a life raft
By her own later account, MEgaAnon's "first series of posts" on /pol/ date to May 2017 — that date is her claim. Documented in the same month: Manuel "Defango" Chavez promoting VictoryOfTheLight on Steemit under the #cicada3301 tag. On June 22 the VictoryOfTheLight account (@KibBitzLaw) posts the military-insider pitch in its purest form:
Eight days later, the HAZMAT email is sent.
"She carried Julian's passports through the airport"
MEgaAnon returns to /pol/ on October 19 with insider-styled posts on Assange, Mueller and Bannon. On October 27 — the day before Q — Discord users discuss the persona as "she" and say she "carried Julian's passports through the airport." That matches the claim Clapier made in her own email as PistisSophia:
Claimed, and it cuts both ways. A Discord DM, captured from the "Foxfire" side, has PistisSophia writing on October 24, 2017: "Thomas and I have a unique relationship, there is nothing he does not know." On October 28, the day of Q's first post, Foxfire answers: "I know you have no relationship with Thomas and I know you are doing screenshots of our conversations." So the capture shows the claim and the dispute, not which of them is right. Only this screenshot is known to survive; this desk has no chat log to check it against.
A validator, not a rival
Q posts on October 28. A week later MEgaAnon does not compete with it — she authenticates it for the most skeptical audience on the site:
That is move three of the insider template, performed by one persona for another.
"#Cicada3301 Follow The White Rabbit" — signed Snow White, tagged #q
A video titled #Cicada3301 Follow The White Rabbit goes online on September 25, 2017, a month before the first Q drop. It is signed "Q" today. The Wayback Machine captures of the original upload show it was published with the tags #cicada3301 #q #cicada, and that the signature on the first version was not Q's but Snow White, the persona that launches as @SnowWhite7IAM weeks later.
Reported by Francesco Grassi, "La metaragnatela di Q? (parte 3)," CICAP Query No. 47, Nov 11, 2021, from Wayback captures. Read it ↗
Snow White points away from herself, then launches
On November 12, MEgaAnon: "Technically, Assange is Snow White and his 7 loyal dwarfs are Vault 7. The Snow White reference really is not as important as the seven dwarfs." The same month @SnowWhite7IAM goes live and becomes a leading Q booster, pushing #FollowSnowWhite and #FollowTheWhiteRabbit to roughly 49,000 followers. The "7IAM" suffix reads as an allusion to the Ballard "I AM" movement. That was my reading, and the 2021 paper by Dilley, Welna and Foster makes the same one (what her paper says). On December 4, Jordan Sather's "12.4" video treats MegaAnon and Q as one phenomenon; two days later Schoenberger sends Victurus Libertas the Q script documented below.
The codename, claimed in her own words
Two and a half years on, @SnowWhite7IAM: "He meant Q's reference to Snow White in the drop." Then, on July 23, 2020: "my Codename: SnowWhite, Peace Mission: WhiteRose."
MEgaAnon deflects: Assange is Snow White; the dwarfs matter more.
Q drops use "Snow White" as an unexplained codename.
@SnowWhite7IAM claims it: "my Codename: SnowWhite."
The template, fully assembled, five days before the 2016 election
Victurus Libertas publishes "Cicada 3301 Hillary Clinton Pedophile Ring Investigation Latest" on November 3, 2016 — under a 3301 cicada banner. Everything QAnon would later be is already in it, and the byline is a puzzle organization that never authorized any of it.
"It's also being leaked by FBI Anon, who is a friend of this channel"
// the apocalyptic payload
"If the full scope of the horrors are exposed, the American and
British Governments would fold like cheap lawn-chairs."
"Hillary has lost all her power. Even if she wins, she will be indicted...
What comes next is a potent mixture of treason, espionage and pedophilia."
// the puzzle as prophecy — future proves past, a year early
Pi Mobi posts a cryptic message; two weeks later the FBI reopens.
"Late October pedestals will crack open" — read backwards as a hit.
"Those who would destroy us with lies will themselves be destroyed by truth"
// and the chain of custody it claims
FBI Anon posts on 4chan July 5 → Guccifer, DCLeaks, WikiLeaks follow.
Anonymous federal insider, elite pedophile network, imminent indictments, governments collapsing, a coded puzzle whose old messages are re-read as predictions once events arrive — a full year before Q's first post. The finished product existed. What October 2017 added was a name and a board.
Note also which post the chapter 07 entries sit next to. On November 3, 2016, SGTreport was pushing a Clinton pedophile network. Pieczenik said she would be arrested over one on November 1. Prince repeated it on November 4. This post is the same week, from the channel that would ask Steele about Cicada in February and host FBI Anon in August.
Foundations. The connective tissue between Thomas Schoenberger, Tracy Beanz and Victurus Libertas — the three nodes that built Q's audience before Q existed · Watch on YouTube ↗
u/Drpbox — the Reddit trail, thirteen months before Q
The account u/Drpbox is tied to joebillionairesdog@gmail.com, an address Schoenberger identified as his own in a June 1, 2018 email to Dale Currie — "I only use joebillionairesdog@gmail.com for paypal" — in a thread where the PayPal notification itself is addressed to Thomas Schoenberger. Drpbox posted that address publicly in a comment on r/UCI.
r/conspiracy — amplifies FBIAnon as "85% accurate" and "legit"
r/conspiracy — frames Cicada 3301 as "a leaking platform for insiders"
r/conspiracy — pushes the Weiner laptop "Life Insurance" narrative
r/cicada — argues inside community disputes, naming Nox and Aeralys
// identification made April 2022, in email to Francesco Grassi,

The comments themselves. Four public Reddit captures from the Q++ folder. What ties them to Schoenberger is the email record above, not the screenshots. The undated ones read "3 years ago" when captured, so they are dated here only as far as the capture allows.
This is the single most useful artifact in the corpus for reading the original notes. Fourteen months before Q, the same account is doing all four things at once: seeding a hack payload, vouching for the proto-anon persona, recasting an anonymous puzzle as an insider leak channel, and running the Weiner storyline that Prince and Pieczenik will be repeating on Drudge six weeks later.
"I have known Thomas for years and he works for me"
Video context for the Cornwell Biss material below. · Watch on YouTube ↗
An email from Tanya Cornwell Biss, forwarded to a third party. It is the single most direct statement on record about the relationship at the center of money path 03, and she wrote it herself, in capitals, unprompted.
"I HAVE KNOWN THOMAS FOR YEARS AND HE WORKS FOR ME"
"the people he helps are the ones that ARE USEFUL TO ME IN DC but he has no
actual idea what is going on past the targets I put in front of him politically"
"I am painfully aware Wikileaks is controlled opposition because I work the actual
opposition, not the fake leakers in DC"
"TELL TREVOR HE HAS ONE HOUR TO ... OR FIND NEW REPRESENTATION"
"DEAL WITH HIM BEFORE I RUIN HIM PLEASE THIS EMAIL IS ACT OF MERCY"
// signed: "with infinite sighs and venom, tanya"
Three separate things are established here, and none of them require trusting her about anything else in the message. She describes Schoenberger as working for her and as the introducer to a named political circle. She describes herself as directing him — "the targets I put in front of him politically" — which inverts the usual assumption about who was steering. And the register is a one-hour ultimatum with a threat to ruin a lawyer's client, delivered to the wife of the attorney in that lawfare pipeline, framed as mercy.
Set it beside the June 2019 Biss email in chapter 05, where the attorney tells her that when Schoenberger opens his mouth he lies. In the same season, one half of that household is warning the other away from him while she is writing that he works for her.
The "HAZMAT" email — four months before the first drop
Tanya Cornwell Biss's June 30, 2017 email predates Q's first post by four months and is citable from the Steele v. Goodman filing at page 31. It sits directly under money path 03 in the network map above, and it is the reason that path is worth chasing rather than merely noting.
Sevens.Exposed — a quatrain, a Q.mp3, and a date that predates everything
Schoenberger states in an unlisted YouTube upload titled on-screen "The Secret History of Q" that he authored a Nostradamus-styled quatrain — "Quand l'escritue D.M. trouvee…" — and gave it to Richard Todd Miller (@KryptosJournal) on April 19, 2017 to encrypt for a puzzle project called Sevens.Exposed, co-created with Michael A. Levine and Richard Lech.
The video's grievance is that Miller stole authorship credit. It is not a denial of producing prophetic, coded, Q-shaped material six months before Q existed — which is what makes it usable. The reply thread from Kryptos Journal contains a gematria-style numeric cipher.
ATTRIBUTION CORRECTION
The video splices in a clip of the Michael Trimm Show (native broadcast timestamp 3/4/2018) carrying a "4/26/2017" overlay, at the moment the host mentions a Q.mp3 uploaded to the Sevens.Exposed site on that date. That annotated clip is not Schoenberger's. It was made by this desk — the overlay was added here to mark exactly that moment. He screen-recorded it off a phone, which is why the copy in his video is visibly degraded, and reused it uncredited. It belongs in the attribution ledger, not the authentication column.
The video also contains an unexplained 2020 election-fraud tweet spliced in with no stated connection to anything around it.
Identity chain confirmed via the Sevens.Exposed thread, Feb–Apr 2018: "Z" = lethargiclemur@gmail.com = "Kryptos Journal" = Richard Todd Miller, introduced Feb 28, 2018 as "Z, from the sevens exposed puzzle"
Eight months before Q, Victurus Libertas asks Robert David Steele about Cicada 3301
Robert David Steele's Public Intelligence Blog publishes the question list for a Victurus Libertas interview. Two of the questions are the entire thesis of this file, asked in public, in February 2017.
but that it started out when a high ranking CIA officer stumbled upon a
'creative' who seemed to be able to forecast events before they happened.
Can you shed some light on this?"
Q2. "Wikileaks started posting hints about Vault 7 in early Feb, three weeks
after Cicada 3301 posted a puzzle that had the number 7 as its core hint.
Obviously, they are connected since Wikileaks is now posting Cicada like puzzles."
Read what is actually being asserted. Cicada is recast as a government program. A "creative" who can forecast events is placed at its origin — the precognition framing of chapter 10, dropped into an intelligence-adjacent story. And WikiLeaks and Cicada are declared connected on the strength of a number.
The same questions cover Epstein, blackmail of named senators, an intelligence-community civil war, and whether a populist civil war is coming. Every load-bearing element of QAnon is present in one document — the anonymous insider, the pedophile blackmail network, the coming civil war, the coded puzzle — eight months before the first Q post, in an outlet run by a former CIA officer, prompted by the channel that would receive an authored Q script in December.
Victurus Libertas, do you know who Q is? The channel confronted with the question directly · Watch on YouTube ↗
"FBI Anon breaks silence" — the broadcast infrastructure, two months early
The channel description: after seven weeks of silence, their FBI Anon granted a Q&A; much of it confirmed what they had already suspected; they had been discussing what looks like an attempt to start a civil war in this country.
This is the format Q would run on, already operating: an anonymous federal insider, periodic silence followed by an exclusive return, civil-war framing, and a husband-and-wife channel supplying the broadcast. 2,851 subscribers. The audience was built, tested and warmed before the persona that would inherit it existed.
The same channel appears three separate times in this file: asking Steele about Cicada in February, hosting FBI Anon in August, receiving Schoenberger's authored Q script in December — and its contribution revenue jumps fourteenfold across that year. See the 990 chart in chapter 05.
The script sent to Victurus Libertas
An email from "Th Stg" (tstger13@gmail.com) sends Victurus Libertas an authored QAnon Q&A titled "Q anon speaks! End days prophecy is coming!" — and forwards it privately three minutes later with the note "Private. he he he.."
The source .eml carries passing SPF, DKIM and DMARC. The .eml is the evidentiary object; every transcription of it is a reading copy. Cross-reference the 990 chart in chapter 05: this is the outlet whose contribution revenue jumps fourteenfold in the year it receives this.
Three emails, ten weeks, three incompatible positions
"On 4chan, we also did a huge question mark and I wrote 'The road of truth

"I am concerned Qanon is a Psyop... What if I am right and Qanon is a Psyop,

Private: we planned to introduce Q on September 26. Semi-private: Q was modelled on Cicada. Public: Q is probably a CIA and Israeli psyop. He is not confused. He is running three registers at once for three audiences, and the deflection script is the one written to be forwarded.
"Why are you promoting QAnon?" — asked to her face, in 2018
Four screenshots from the Unity4J Discord, dated July 25, 2018. PistisSophia is Lisa Clapier. LESTAT is me. The exchange is the whole thesis of this file compressed into eight minutes, and it happened three years before anyone was writing papers about it.
Witness account · Arturo TafoyaI was in this room. The screenshots are mine, taken as it happened.
Unity4J Discord, July 25, 2018 · four consecutive captures, 5:17–5:26 PM
I asked her directly why she was promoting QAnon, pointed out that Q had called WikiLeaks compromised and attacked it, and named her: "you are snowwhite in twitter." She answered that some accounts claim to be Q supporters but that wasn't the narrative as far as she was aware. I pressed: Q followers were harassing Julian's mother. "why no one is helping us bring q anon down?" She replied that no one should be harassing Christine, that I should pass any accounts along and someone could deal with them, and offered to talk after the broadcast.
What I wrote, in the moment: "that can discredit wikileaks and us in any moment its a ticking bomb and a lie 100%" and "QAnon will cause way more damage, and its getting to the point of chaos because its already madness." Her reply was to ask whether this was the first movement I had witnessed, and then to post the Unity4J State of the Movement Address.
WHAT THE TIMESTAMP SETTLES
Any account in which I am a QAnon operator or promoter has to explain a dated log of me demanding, inside the movement's own Discord, that QAnon be brought down — and being deflected by its organizer. Four months later she would write that Q is assisting and that Schoenberger had been chosen. She was not unaware of the narrative. She was managing the person raising it.
Cicada 3301 as a property, twenty-four days before Q
A First Amendment to an attachment agreement, dated October 4, 2017: Thomas Schoenberger ("professionally known as Thomas St. Germain"), Michael Levine and Richard J. Lech, as "Owner," with Insurgent Media LLC and Cat Entertainment. The subject is a film, TV, game or new-media project "based in whole or in part on the online puzzle/alternate reality game currently known as 'Cicada 3301' (the 'Property')." The chain runs back to agreements of December 9, 2015 and April 4, 2016.
The puzzle nobody has ever proven authorship of was being licensed as someone's property through the whole run-up this chapter documents.
"Fox asked me to give a nod to Rabbit … a month before Q"
Asked directly when he started Q and who helped, @SophiaMusik1 — Schoenberger's account — answers with a Cicada 3301 "Follow the White Rabbit" video and: "It started in Sept. Fox asked me to give a nod to Rabbit. Sept, a month before Q." Then: "I never posted on 4chan … I only said there was a new entity called Q, as we have done with Z." The DM shows no year; the question refers to control being "stolen in late november."
A separate email from the same Th Stg address, also undated, subject "On the Cicada video, can you now post": "Operation Q has begun. Follow the breadcrumbs."
Both are his own statements, filed as claims. What they add is that the "creator" story was being told from inside Cicada's orbit, not only by Chavez.
wikileaks.shop — brand impersonation with the campaign hashtag in the menu
Captured in August 2018 while observing the Unity4J Discord during its formative period: a WHOIS export and a live site capture showing wikileaks.shop operating as "The Official WikiLeaks Shop" with no infrastructure, registrar or jurisdictional relationship to WikiLeaks. The legitimate outlet was shop.wikileaks.org, a subdomain on WikiLeaks' own DNS.
Enzenada Cloud forensic memo OSINT-2018-WLSHOP-001 · observed Aug 2018, documented May 18, 2026
WHOIS DELTA
- Separate TLD registration, not a subdomain
- Registrar Enom, distinct from the legitimate Dynadot record
- Registrant jurisdiction Panama
- DigitalOcean nameservers — no DNS relationship to WikiLeaks infrastructure
- Self-identifies as "The Official WikiLeaks Shop", replicating the visual identity
- Prominent Donate button, no disclosed destination
- #Unity4J in the primary site navigation
THE WINDOW
The capture falls inside the period when Assange's internet access had been cut at the Ecuadorian embassy — severed March 28, 2018 — sharply reducing WikiLeaks' ability to police its own brand or adjacent fundraising channels.
That is the pattern across this entire file: periods of reduced principal-actor visibility are followed by branded grift standing up inside the affinity audience. A faceless puzzle. A jailed publisher. A movement with no accountable center.
The WHOIS export that produced this listed six domains together: qanongear.com, veteransonpatrol.com, qanontruth.com, wikileaks.org, shop.wikileaks.org, wikileaks.shop. QAnon merchandise, the Tucson "Veterans on Patrol" operation, and a counterfeit WikiLeaks storefront surfacing in one lookup. Independently, in a recorded 2020 call, Manuel Chavez III walks through the same clustering and asks how those domains ended up next to each other — the same anomaly, found separately, years apart.
It was reported at the time to Jack Posobiec, who dismissed it. Posobiec sits in the facilitator column of the notes' own table, and is one of only two people the DEF CON account names as present in that room.
THE DEFECTION POINT
Identifying that domain is when this author left. Not an argument, not a falling-out — a registration record. A January 2019 WikiLeaks DM confirming Clapier as a fraud closed it. The memo also establishes something relevant to a separate file: this investigative track predates the formalized research frameworks that later reported the same terrain without attribution.
A second storefront: the Shop link on wikileaks.org itself
The WHOIS work above is about wikileaks.shop. A separate pair of captures sent to this desk shows a different oddity: the Shop button on the wikileaks.org homepage points to https://wikileaks.spreadshirt.com, both on hover and in the page source.
This desk checked the Wayback Machine. Captures of wikileaks.org from Nov 12, 2017, Mar 1, 2018 and Aug 15, 2018 all carry a Shop link to wikileaks.spreadshirt.com, so the captures are accurate for that period.
THE CLAIM THAT IS NOT ESTABLISHED
The annotation says the site was hijacked and the Spreadshirt storefront is "the FAKE WIKI LEAKS SHOP the one #Unity4j pushes." This desk cannot confirm that. A link that stayed on WikiLeaks' own homepage for at least nine months is hard to square with a hijack, and Spreadshirt is an ordinary merchandise host, so the storefront may simply have been WikiLeaks' own. The counterfeit this chapter documents remains wikileaks.shop, tied by WHOIS to Enom, Panama and DigitalOcean. What would settle the Spreadshirt question: who registered that storefront, and whether WikiLeaks ever acknowledged it.
Clapier's prophetic register, in her own words
Video introduction. Clapier in her own voice, before the email below. · Watch on YouTube ↗
An email from PistisSophia@protonmail.com — confirmed as Lisa Clapier — to Beth Bogaerts, copying Schoenberger, Mindy, Genki, Hamilton and Tanya Cornwell. The prose is messianic disclosure language and it endorses QAnon by name: Q is assisting whether you like it or not, transparent disclosure is coming.
It also vouches for Schoenberger as chosen — that he may be taking the public hit to protect the truth's emergence, that she can confirm he was chosen, and that she was humbled when she learned by whom.
Set beside the quatrain, this is the stylistic match that matters: same messianic framing, same cabal-and-disclosure vocabulary, one in verse and one in prose, three weeks apart in the same network.
PDAnon — two independent attributions, eight years apart
In June 2026 Schoenberger writes that "PDAnon was Chavez. I have the proof somewhere…Him admitting it." That alone would be a claim. It is corroborated by a contemporaneous and entirely independent source: Bret Hirsch (@brethirsch), December 12, 2018, publicly naming PDAnon as "the idea behind Q & my friend @defangolives" — eight years before the confession.
Defango was also PDAnon's same-day first amplifier and sole canonical host: a February 6, 2018 Periscope plus a Steemit article slotted as "part 6" of his own Epstein series. Read as a whole, PDAnon reads as a recovery move after losing control of Q, not as an origin.
A third attribution. On August 11, 2018, Valor (intelvalor), a member of the same Cicada group, wrote to me: "I know Defango was part of the CJ group, as well as PEPE, but he was removed from the group and it was remade. CJ was also PDanon." It does not cancel the two above. Read together, PDAnon looks less like one man and more like a persona used inside a group that included both Defango and CJ (CJ, Lala and the brood).
The denial that names five other founders
Replying to a draft overview, Schoenberger writes that he never fought over QAnon and has never even been on 8chan — then states it was founded by Beth, Paula Davis, Lisa Clapier and Dan Vazina, who hid their roles with the exception of Clapier.
Same structure as 2018: deny personal involvement in the same sentence that demonstrates detailed operational knowledge of who was involved. The denial is the claim; the roster is the evidence.
Jim Watkins' virtual background
In a Zoom appearance, the owner of 8chan sits in front of a virtual background of a cicada with a red Q drawn over it. Nothing about it requires interpretation or verification. Pull the frame.
Paul Furber as lead author
Furber — listed in the mouthpiece column of the notes' own table — is forensically established as the lead author of the Q posts. The notes had him as a distributor. He was upstream of that.
The critique that was already on the record
A review by Eric Johnson, "The Hidden Right-Wing Agenda at the Heart of 'Thrive'," describes the film as a polished, optimistic "free energy" utopia that delivers a dark picture built from paranoid conspiracy theories and right-libertarian propaganda, and notes the film's claim of a secret pattern found in nature.
It matters for dating. The Thrive pipeline was identified as a conspiracy-and-libertarian funnel four and a half years before Q — so Foster Gamble's 2021 "real game" line is not a late drift. It is the same product described by its maker.
Keeping Cicada away from Q

In one lineFrom inside the group, I spent 2018 trying to separate Cicada from Q and to get Thomas out, and his own emails record both what he claimed about Q and how he tried to shut me up.
Witness account · Arturo TafoyaEvery quote below is from my mailbox, with dates. Where Thomas writes about Q, those are his claims about himself, not findings. He used several addresses; only ones confirmed as his (TStGermain, tstger13 / "Th Stg", Sophia Musik) are quoted here.
I · The believer
"We had planned to intro Q Sept 26th"
Asked about Q, Thomas writes to me that Beth asked to include "Rabbit" in the puzzle, that on 4chan "we also did a huge question mark," and then:
Th Stg → author, subject "Q". His account of himself; the September 26 date matches the planning line in chapter 09.
Scripting what I should say about Q
After forgiving Defango and going on his show, Thomas writes to the group: "Well I distrust q." Six days later he sends me, ready to paste, a comment for the QAnon YouTuber Wardrummer, written in my voice: "I live in Latin America, the playground of the CIA … What if I am right and Qanon is a Psyop, possibly created by CIA and Israel?" The line matches what he told me in private: Q was his idea, taken over by intelligence.
Th Stg → author, "I would post this to wardrummer," Jul 16, 2018. I did not post it.
“You passed them, Lestat, early on”
Between the Kappy-on-air moment and the October threat, Thomas sends me a short note of reassurance about my standing. It is useful for a narrow reason: in his own words, in his own inbox, he confirms I was initiated.
Th Stg (tstger13@gmail.com) → author, Sep 27, 2018. He is a documented fraud and his claims about Cicada’s legitimate chain of authority are not adopted here. This line is kept because it is him, in writing, contemporaneous, confirming my role inside the network as he was running it — a point later disputed by people who were not there.
II · The line I would not cross
"Leave me out of your Defango and Q dramas"
By October I was speaking publicly about Q and Cicada. Thomas: "You gave me your word you would not be speaking about Q or Defango … Cicada behavior does not include publicly speaking about Cicada." The next day, subject line "If you wish, I could put out a pgp sign message stating that you're kicked out of cicada":
Th Stg → author (Beth copied on the first), Oct 12 and 13, 2018.
“Would you like every screenshot on your phone made public?”
Fifteen days after the “you’ll be destroyed” message above, the threat was made literal. Not about Cicada this time, not about Q, not about a public account of either — about the contents of my phone.
Two things to notice. One, the stepping-up: the weapon moves from reputation (“kicked out of cicada”) to private material he claims to have (“every screenshot”). Two, the format: a yes/no question. The point is not the answer; the point is to put the question in writing, so that the next thing I do carries the cost of ignoring it. This is chapter 12’s playbook arriving in my inbox, dated.
Th Stg (tstger13@gmail.com) → author, Oct 28, 2018. Whether he actually had any screenshots is a separate question and is not resolved here. The threat itself, in writing, is the artifact.
III · Asking the others to stand up
"I would rather see Cicada destroyed than used for evil"
I wrote to the Cicada members, Levine, Z, Juno, Richard Miller, Python and others, asking them to make Thomas step down. On Q:
Author → Cicada members, "Hello please respond." Nobody backed it. Forwarded to Cullen Hoback in 2022.
What the others answered
Some members answered with the principle I was defending. Richard Miller, the day after my letter:
Members → author. Even the member who disagreed with me confirms what the war was about: Q.
"Would you like to join cicada?"
How he recruited long before me. In January 2015, writing as Thomas and as Sophia Musik from the same music address, he meets a Richard Miller and asks him to join Cicada within the first message. This thread doesn't say which of the two Richard Millers in this file it is. Minutes later he gives the pitch he would give me in 2017: "We are white hats."
"Cicada does not belong to you"
In May Thomas forwards me a lawyer's note from Insurgent Media about the Cicada film deal: "We extended until August and need to get these signatures before we send out the demand letter claiming we have rights." Seven months later I write to Michael Levine, co-holder of the trademark: "Cicada does not belong to you, the sony deal is not happening … Hand over your part of the trade mark to Z or genki."
Th Stg → author, "Fwd: FW: Cicada," May 8, 2018 (forwarded to Francesco Grassi, 2021); author → Levine, "So?," Dec 18, 2018. The contract itself is in chapter 09.
IV · Alone
"You are no longer a cicada, you never were"
November 21, to Thomas: "just to make it official, your are no longer a cicada, you never were." December 17, to the members: "I WILL DO A LIVE STREAM IN 2 HRS … ABOUT ALL THIS." January 1, 2019, to a YouTuber: "Im gonna blow up he started Q, I got the evidence."
From that point the same emails went to the people who later wrote the story: Jim Stewartson (2020), Francesco Grassi (2021), Laura Dilley (2021–22), Cullen Hoback (2022). Chapter 21 is what happened to the credit.
Christmas Day
Inside the span above, after Thomas had called me a “fake cicada” on the thread, I wrote the group — Foxfire, Hamilton and the others — twice. The first line names what the arrangement had cost by then:
The second, minutes later, is me addressing myself in the third person because by then I was not sure who the “I” was:
The Nuclear video in chapter 15’s aside is the next day’s answer to that night. The record isn’t only the art.
Author → group thread (Foxfire2112, Hamilton and others), Dec 25, 2018, two messages minutes apart. Kept here with the dignity that line still deserves.
I named the recruitment to her face, in writing
Nine days after the YouTuber email above, I wrote to Beth Bogaerts (Foxfire2112@gmail.com, copied to the same address at ProtonMail) and told her, in one sentence, what had happened:
Her reply the next day did not deny the recruitment. It pivoted to her own hardship (“Since June, all I ever wanted was out”) and, in a follow-up the same day, to the characterization that she had tried to warn me and I had brushed her off (“we all have dark sides”). I keep that reply paraphrased, not quoted; the trueblood chapter’s rule about not reproducing her private emails stands. The point survives the omission. The natural response to a false accusation of recruiting someone into a defamation network is to say you did not recruit them. That is not what she said.
Author → Foxfire2112 addresses, Jan 10, 2019; Foxfire2112 → author, Jan 11, 2019. The recruitment thesis is not retrospective reframing: it was named in writing while the recruitment was still happening. It would be another four and a half years before anyone else wrote it down (Dilley’s July 2023 voice notes, chapter 20).
Hamilton: the other kind of silence
Not every withdrawal from this story is Beth’s. Hamilton — one of the two people I invited into Cicada in spring 2018 (the aside above) — pulled back for the reason people usually pull back. On October 13, 2018, in the middle of Thomas’s threats, he forwarded me one of Thomas’s messages with: “FYI, bro wanted you to see this. At the hospital now and will try to speak to him tomorrow.” He was warning me while his family was in acute care. Three weeks later, on October 31: “I have a newborn and a wife who continues to need medical care. Therefore, please respect my request to remain out of this thread and matter entirely.” From 2019 to 2021 his inbox ran on an auto-responder saying the same thing. The withdrawal was signed, dated and reasoned.
It did not hold forever. On April 3, 2021, hours after I had been removed from my home by the police, he wrote a short conciliatory message. I answered with a sequence of furious emails in twenty-seven minutes that didn’t deserve a reply. On November 4, 2023 — the same evening I wrote to Beth asking “why have you turned your back on me” — I wrote the same question to him, with the subject line “Bestman.” He was going to be the best man at my wedding. He didn’t answer. In September 2024 he came back: a one-word email, “hi.” We reconciled.
I keep this here because the chapter 20 rule about Beth cuts in two directions. The pattern around her is one thing. The pattern around someone who had a reason is a different thing. Confusing them would be the same move the rest of this file is about.
Hamilton (hami1ton@protonmail.com) ↔ author, Oct 13 and Oct 31, 2018; Apr 3, 2021; Nov 4, 2023 (subject “Bestman”); Sep 2024. Quotes are from his messages to me. He is named here as he is already named in the spring 2018 aside above and in the Nov 2018 list of recipients in section III.
V · Proven right
"You were right"
In January I wrote what I had expected from the group:
Author → member, Jan 11, 2019; Jared → author, "Duudee," Apr 28, 2019.
“I have feelings too and have lived the last 2 years scared”
Five months after I named the recruitment to her face (above), on a thread called “Block me?”, I wrote her a short note:
Her reply ran the same move the Jan 10 entry already describes — upset, apology, pivot — and closed on the one line worth quoting here, because it is the whole move in nine words:
I was the one taking the public hits. I keep this single line because it is the clearest version of the structure, in her own voice; the rest of her private emails stay out, per the chapter 20 rule.
Author ↔ Foxfire2112, “Block me?,” Jun 23, 2019.
“Please don’t share these”
Through the second half of 2019, Beth filed stalking and extortion complaints against Thomas with the Napa Police Department (case Npd19-4360, with filings and follow-ups in August and October) and forwarded her own submissions to me across the same months. On December 26 she sent them again with a cover line:
I kept my part of that. Her reports are not reproduced here, only the fact that she filed and the fact that she asked. This is the whole move in one request: a private file of her own victimhood built in official channels, forwarded to the person who was taking the public hits, with the demand that it stay invisible. Chapter 20’s rule about her private material stands with a single carved-out exception, which is this entry: that she filed, that she forwarded, and that she asked.
Beth (Foxfire2112) → author, forwarded Napa PD submissions, August and October 2019, with the “please don’t share” cover note of Dec 26, 2019. The reports themselves are hers. The forwarding, the dates and the quoted line are in my inbox. The chapter 20 note is amended accordingly.
“I will not permit Beth to manipulate me”
Another member of the circle, Esteban Trujillo (ma91c1an@pm.me), writes to me independently and names the pattern I had named to Beth’s face ten months earlier (above):
In the same thread: “I published an interview with you in the Cicada Files, and I back you to this day.” Not a chorus, but a second voice: a contemporaneous third party reading the same operator pattern around Beth from his own vantage, and saying so in writing.
Esteban Trujillo → author, Nov 9, 2019. Esteban is also the person Richard Miller handed sevens.exposed to, documented separately in chapter 14; his later arc is his and is not adopted here.
VI · Going public
One comment, one report: War Drummer
2018. I was already sick of QAnon and didn't know what to do about it. I had no platform, no audience, and YouTube was doing nothing about that content.
One day I came across the channel of War Drummer, one of the movement's big names at the time. He mixed Bible readings with political conspiracy, had 23,000 subscribers, and even sold a "Q army anthem." I left a comment mocking his overdone voice. Honestly, I just wanted to see what would happen.
He made an entire 26-minute video about me. It's called "Qanon - Vampire trolls and threats - urgent message!" Yes, urgent message. Over a comment.
He said my name and sent his people after me. I got death threats, accusations of pedophilia, and one guy told me he would find me with facial recognition. The usual with that crowd.
But in doing that, he broke YouTube's rules on camera. I reported it. His main channel came down. Ten hours later he was recording from his backup channel, literally called "The Back-up," asking his people to stop going to my profile because "it's causing problems."
One comment and one report. My first steps against Q, when nobody was paying attention to me. But I learned something that served me later: you don't need to take these guys down. You just need them to trip over themselves.
